Osama Bin Laden - YOU DESERVE IT!

By now, you have heard about the death of Osama Bin Laden that took place last night. When the U.S. Navy Seals entered the Bin Laden compound they put up a fight without a single casualty, killing Bin Laden, and retrieving his body. This WIN was a well needed one. Last night and throughout the day, we hear of a new hope and America is giving thanks to God on the White House grounds once more.

Osama Bin Laden, the mass murder of thousands of Americans, is finally out of the picture. After his body had been identified, he was disposed of out in sea just so he could not have a burial ground to be idolized. I personally believed that the Seals should have fed him to the pigs to further dishonor him and his followers. People would say that would trigger retaliation amongst the Taliban but I say that as soon as Osama was shot dead, that already pushed the rebels for the retaliation so what worse could happen?

According to Omar, Bin Laden's son, "if his father is killed America may face a broader and more violent enemy, with nothing to keep them in check" (ABC News).

There you have it America! Celebrate now but be ready for what is to come. I believe Omar, that the worst will now come. In the mean time, Osama Bin Laden - YOU DESERVE IT!

Apple has been in the hot seat for two days now about a tracking issue with both the iPhone and iPad. On twitter, I follow @falseSteveJobs, formerly known as @ceoSteveJobs, and he did not let this pass with the controversial issue. Below are his tweets on the matter.

The New Suit: A Communication Talent Resource

I have been in the works of a new direction for The Suit this past week since Monday. I have been transforming the site to support that new direction. Hopefully by the end of the week you will see the end results.

I am bringing on additional unpaid contributors.  I had been using this site for my own purpose of exercising my writing and showing developed work so I can use this as my own portfolio.  I figured that if this is helping me why not others?  I decided to make this change because of the problem America faces in finding jobs.

It is not acceptable anymore to fill out a job application or to send employers your resume, face it, if it does not have key words or phrases that computers are programed to see, if the computers can read it, then you are out of luck.  Employers are receiving hundreds of applications and don't have to time to really care about hiring you.

For Communication majors, on average, it takes 1-2 years to find employment, some reports are also saying 5 years.  That is too long for gained talent to waste while finding work, if in the field you want.  Since employers have evolved therefore, we need to evolve.

The-Suit.com is now for those who specialize in the Communication field.  Whether for journalism, Film, Advertising, Public Relations, Theory, etc., The-Suit.com is open for free lance writing, and posting your talent with video editing, magazine covers, etc.

Use The-Suit.com as if it were your current job.  Exercise current talents and use this site to gain new ones.  When applying for jobs, include your personal URL that will be provided with all your work to show.  Also, The-Suit.com will work hard over the summer to get employers to notice this site for potential employment.

Much more will come, in the mean time this is what we will start with.  Make this the one stop resource for employers.

This has been an exciting weekend for me.  I had been in the works for an extra credit assignment but turned to a new business plan.  I had been wanting to make something out of The Suit and always knew it would take time.  Who knew that great ideas can come from this site alone?  I will make an announcement that will explain the new direction.  This can change the way you apply for a job.

Wasatch Adaptive Sports

This past week, my public relations class was assigned to develop a PR campaign for the next year on behalf of Wasatch Adaptive Sports (WAS). Developing the campaign proved to be stressful but a lot of fun.

I decided to add a little something extra to it. From my evaluations, WAS is in need of donations. They supply equipment to people of all ages at no costs. They do this as a service and to provide these people an active life style.

The little something extra is a test video. Some of the footage is from WAS and others is what I could find on youtube and google. I chose my focus on the military veterans because of the sacrifice and emotion.

T-Mobile Customers For Sprint

I am a T-mobile customer and a former one of AT&T. I built my case below and I urge you to support this. AT&T will be the death of the mobile competition. That's why I send my support to Sprint in battling this. If Sprint wins the fight, they will be strengthened more so then before in the mobile business.

Sprint will not be a dominate provider, but will keep competition alive in terms of quality of service, better prices, and will set a standard to Verizon & AT&T to follow suit. Ready my case below, visit the Facebook Page, and "Like" it.

Deutsche Telekom announced on March 20, 2011 that it is selling T-mobile USA to AT&T and will "receive 39 billion USD for US-business."

If you were keeping track of T-mobile stock then you knew that the US branch was in trouble.  Deutsche Telekom told the US based branch to "make money or else."  T-mobile did not have a big opportunity as a few months later the German mother ship sold them away.

The rumors was spreading that Sprint would acquire the business then without notice, AT&T closed the deal, awarding Deutsche Telekom $14 billion in AT&T stock and $25 billion in cash.  This will make AT&T the #1 mobile business in America with the most customers and the most mobile towers across the country that Verizon will have difficulty competing and Sprint will be left with one option - sell.

Is the sale of T-mobile USA to AT&T good for consumers?

NO!  Why?

AT&T is overly expensive and it will only get worse.  With a decrease in competition it will give the landline based company power over the consumer.  It already changed the unlimited data plans to the old ways of minutes (like AOL in the 90s).  AT&T now offers 200 megabytes for $15 monthly or $25 for 2 gigabytes monthly only for an additional $10.00 added for each gigabyte you go over.

I don't know about you but I would average 5 gigabytes a month in data.  That's not much with what is required for mobile internet and applications.  That's an additional $55.00 a month on top of your over priced minute plan.

Yes, T-mobile customers will get the iPhone - but is the costs worth it?
Not Really

For one line, you will average $130.00 per month for 900 minutes and only limited gigabytes with additional costs.  Refer to my average - that is 130.00 and that moves up to an estimated $155.00 - consider taxes and extra fees too.  ONE LINE - 1 - Just 1!  Imagine the costs for two lines. 

Also, T-mobile customers - BAD NEWS - unless you know how to unlock your current phones, you will have to purchase a new phone through AT&T as they are converting the T-mobile towers signals, still GSM, but no longer the frequency that only T-mobile uses.

AT&T admitted themselves that they will raise the prices on T-mobile customers through offering them smartphones.  That's right!  T-mobile customers, you will not only be offered competitive prices for new smartphones but you will need to sign new contracts and pay the monthly costs that comes with it.

If you are with T-mobile now, you are with them for a reason and AT&T does not factor into that reason.

I am with T-mobile because of the highest rated customer service and low cost phone plans.

Why should T-mobile USA sale to Sprint?

Better phones & low cost.  I will admit, T-mobile never sold quality phones but did acquire the best phones they could at low costs.  Sprint is right next door.

Their plans is unlimited starting at $69.99.  That is unlimited to any mobile phone domestic, unlimited data, unlimited e-mail, and unlimited texting.  Truly Unlimited.

If you need two lines or more, the True Unlimited Plans start at 129.99 for 1500 minutes.  Face it, those minutes are only used if you call a land line phone.  EVERYTHING ELSE IS FREE OF EXTRA CHARGE!

If Sprint were to acquire T-mobile USA, they will not be the largest competitor but a strong competitor – enticing Verizon and AT&T to compete with them which will create a more quality service through prices and technology because they will compete for the money.  The money only exists if they have the numbers.

I am a T-mobile customer and I am doing this because I recognize that the merger of the landline based company AT&T and the mobile business T-mobile USA will create a monopoly allowing AT&T more power to raise prices.  I have no affiliation with Sprint but I recognize that Sprint will struggle and will have no choice but to sell.

If Sprint were to acquire T-mobile - it will continue to have a competitive edge for lowering prices and quality service.

Keep competition alive!  Let’s send a message to the FCC to disallow the sale of T-mobile USA to AT&T.

Rebecca Black - YOU DESERVE IT!

I have been following several stories the past few weeks, during my overwhelming schedule.  Rebecca Black is one of the online "sensations" that stood out.  Story after story I have read both fantastic and horrific reviews of this young singer.

With the fantastic stories I would read disagreeing comments from readers.  With the horrific reviews I would read agreeing comments.  I needed to get down to the bottom of this story as to why the press is so hyped up on Rebecca Black and why the readers are not buying it.

I don't know what the media was thinking in turning this video into a sensation with "positive" reviews. I will give Rebecca credit, she was dressed modestly, exemplified a "fun, fun; fun, fun" attitude, and showed us that all 12 year old boys are now driving cars (or are they 13, 10, 9?).

Before I took a second look at the youtube hit, I asked my self, WWSCD (What would Simon Cowell do)? With this new perspective of mine, I watched the video, again. I believe Simon would say, what the **** was that? No one would watch this (despite the 49,000,000+ views). I want my 4 minutes back!

With my personal perspective, all I can think of is "what fun?" Who is this girl? What? Huh? I still can't think straight about this.

The media does not know what entertainment is anymore but I'm sure Rebecca is getting her 15 minutes of fame. I know, people are ranting - Rebecca's the next Justin Beiber! NO! She is not. Justin has real talent, and I don't like the kid.

Rebecca, this blog is not meant to be an insult because I still do not know what to say about your video and song. You must be a sweet girl or a spoiled brat with a rich daddy but that's not the point. The point is.............. WHAT?

From Apple to The Suit - YOU DESERVE IT!

I have some making up to do. I bought my new MacBook Pro towards the beginning of February and then what did I see? Apple released a new MacBook Pro. I figured I would have a good opportunity to get the new one for one reason, my new pro had a faulty battery and could not hold a charge. I told the customer service rep that I would need to return my new MacBook Pro for repairs so I asked him if I could just return it and buy the newest pro that came out. They allowed it! I wasted no time, dropped in the mailbox, and returned home to my 1G MacBook Air which after 30 minutes of working on it, the hard drive crashed.

Talk about fantastic timing! I was left without a computer, unable to do my weekly "You Deserve It!," and the mother of them all hit me. I was responsible to review my class's individual PR projects and I was to combine it for a class PR campaign to be presented to Wasatch Adaptive Sports. It was due the following day.

I know, you are thinking, "Well Dave, you had all this time, why wasn't it done before?" I did have the project close to completion, that's not the problem. The problem was that I used Apple's Keynote to design the campaign and everyone I know here only uses Windows computers -- That's The Problem.

I stayed up for half the night in a pure panic redoing the whole project. It wasn't pretty but it got done.

This has to be a message from Apple to me so here it is... The Suit - YOU DESERVE IT!

Phase 2 - Myers 2.0

My current project with Myers Mortuary & Evergreen Memorial Park is still progressing.  I have done nothing with the advertising except those who are closely connected with me through Facebook.  I am currently in the process of editing and narrating instructional & sales promoting videos.  After these are complete I will launch a full scale campaign in the local Wasatch Front to promote additional sales and services.

Here is the first video, of a few, I am posting on the page.  This one give three basic steps of what you need to do when a death occurs.  The next few will discuss why Pre-Planning for Cemetery & Funerals are essential and what families need to do following the death.

Lady Gaga - You Deserve It!

I was listening to an interview from Lady Gaga following her performance at the Grammy's and she claimed that she did the outrageous action of placing herself in a coffin and then an egg to represent her "rebirth."  She claimed this long period of birthing took "two hours" and that she did not come out into the world until her performance.

Below I present two videos, one of the red carpet and the other of the performance.  You will see what is obvious and that she did leave her egg before the performance.  How do I know?  The egg for entering and the egg for the performance are two different eggs.  The egg she entered in has a solid lid while the performance egg has a mechanical lid.  Sorry Lady Gaga, you were born before you performed.

I thought I heard birds chirping for a short period of time and now I know why, Lady Gaga isolated herself for two hours.  I have to thank you Gaga, you gave the world peace while in this "long" period of isolation.

Egypt - Internet Once More

(I stand corrected. I did not realize that the internet had been turned by on in Egypt a few days ago. I will not remove this post because this view did come after the announcement of the resignation of the Egyptian president.)




Egypt has been without the internet for sometime because their now former president, Hosni Mubarak, had ordered a discontinuation of it for the country.  After 3 weeks of protest, Mubarak resigned according to the will of the Egyptian people.  The internet did not take long to be activated either.  Not long after Mubarak's resignation I found this on my site, my first view of the day.

This commercial is almost everything that I believe in concerning the entertainment industry and electronics.  I will admit, this commercial is not all that great for a Superbowl ad but I have to commend Justin Bieber for being such a sport.  Justin, you deserve it!
